Storage Basics
A pre-roll left on the dash or in a jacket pocket is a pre-roll on borrowed time.
A freshly rolled blunt is dense, sticky, and full of flavor. Leave it out in open air for a few days and that same blunt turns dry, harsh, and burns way faster than it should. Storage is the difference between a good smoke and a wasted one.
Air is the enemy. The original packaging is built to hold moisture in, so the simplest move is to just leave it in there until you are ready to smoke it. If you have already opened it, an airtight container does the same job, a small glass jar or a dedicated stash container works fine.
It might seem logical to store cannabis like food, but cold storage introduces its own problems. Moisture can build up when it warms back to room temperature, and the flower can go brittle. Room temperature, sealed, out of light is the move.
Sunlight and heat both break down terpenes over time, which is where flavor and potency live. A glovebox in summer or a windowsill are both bad long-term storage spots even if it is convenient short-term.
If you buy multiples and know you will not get through them fast, a small two-way humidity control pack in the storage container keeps things from drying out over a few weeks. Not necessary for something you are smoking within a few days, worth it if you are holding onto product longer.
Sealed, room temperature, out of light. That is really it. Do that and a Dougie blunt smokes just as well two weeks after you bought it as it did on day one.
